Liminowlity Exhibition
Artists: alejandro t. acierto, Jennifer Clary-Lemon, Marcel O’Gorman
Inspired by the artists’ field work on the burrowing owl, a small charismatic raptor that nests underground, Liminowlity documents the ways human development encroaches upon and pushes out at-risk species. The construction materials in this installation, common to both land development sites and artificial habitats for displaced owls, embody conflicting human relations to the more-than-human. The field photography captures liminal spaces where infrastructures of hope can be abandoned as monuments to a disappearing species.
